A journey through the valley of the Rhône and Languedoc tasting some exquisite and surprising wines.

We were delighted to have a chance to taste a number of environmentally friendly estate-bottled wines provided by the Maison Laplace in the opulent setting of the Quai d’Orsay.

The first round of tasting presented a number of white wines that beautifully reflected the Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette and white and grey Grenache grapes usually grown in these regions.
The second tasting included a wonderful array of red grapes such as Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre.
Quite apart from their stunning colour, the wines offered pleasant aromas brought out by their high levels of tannin.
Each wine was paired with a type of food that married beautifully the different flavours.
Synonymous with originality, Maison Laplace took our taste buds on a tour of discovery to learn more about these traditional terroirs.
But remember – like all good things in life – wine must be enjoyed in moderation!
